Obituary for Jimmie Evelyn Graves (Boggs)

Jimmie Evelyn Boggs Graves, resident of Nesbit, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee departed this life on Friday, November 3, 2017 from the Landmark Nursing Home in Horn Lake, Mississippi at the age of 91. She was born in Woodruff County, Arkansas on November 3, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Annie Boggs.

Mrs. Graves attended McCrory High School and later married Mr. Ernest Graves who preceded her in death. Mrs. Graves was a member of the St. John’s Methodist Church of Memphis, Tennessee. When she worked outside the home, Mrs. Graves was employed through E. H. Crump Insurance Company and Uniom Insurance Company but most of all she was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, working in her flower garden, reading and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Graves is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Maxine Tuck and husband Jimmy L. of Nesbit, Mississippi, Fayerene McClellan of Vardamen, Mississippi, three sisters, Floella Dobbs of Conway, Arkansas, Lavelle Thomas of Florida, Gwendolyn Dashler of Indiana, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family requests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7th with 2:00 p.m. funeral services following at Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Fakes Chapel Cemetery.
