Obituary for Melinda Louise Rudick (Farrell)
Melinda Louise Farrell Rudick resident of McCrory and Mountain View, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from her residence at the age of 66 with her family by her side. She was born in Woodstock, Illinois on May 30, 1951, the daughter of the late James and Marion Fish Farrell.
Mrs. Rudick graduated from Marion Central High in Woodstock, Illinois. She married Mr. Cecil Rudick on July 6, 1971 and was employed through Illinois Bell for 11 years prior to moving to Arkansas. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was owner of Rudick Hunting and Dog Supply. Mrs. Rudick was a Secretary-Treasurer for the Arkansas Coon Hunters Association and wrote articles for the American Cooner Magazine. She was influential in the coon hunting sport where she was a show judge in U.K.C., A.K.C. and P.K.C. License Bench. She loved nature in general and knew a lot about birds, trees and plants and could actually name each one. Mrs. Rudick loved reading, playing the fiddle and old time folk music. But most of all she loved being with her family and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Rudick is survived by her husband of 46 years, Cecil Rudick of McCrory and Mountain View, Arkansas, one son, Adam Rudick and wife Petie of McCrory, Arkansas, one daughter, Amanda Austin and husband Brian of McCrory, Arkansas, one brother, Richard Farrell and wife Cindy of Woodstock, Illinois, one sister, Carol Hrncar and husband Steve of Woodstock, Illinois, seven grandchildren, Easton Reed and wife Maggie of Bald Knob, Arkansas, Addison Rudick of Bauxite, Arkansas, Jake Rudick of Bauxite, Arkansas, Jaxon Rudick of McCrory, Arkansas, Sydney Hall of McCrory, Arkansas, Faith Austin of McCrory, Arkansas, Mabry Tiner of McCrory, Arkansas, one great-grandchild, Linley Reed of Bald Knob, Arkansas.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Junior Rudick, Jason Rudick, Jordan Rudick, Ricky Joe Rudick, Curt Faughn, Dale Faughn, and Gary Faughn. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be on Sunday, December 17th at 4:30 p.m. with visitation following from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be on Monday, December 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in White Hall Cemetery. thompsonwilsonfh.com 870-731-2551
