Franklin Wayne Madison resident of the Morton Community in Woodruff County departed this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Unity Health-White County Medical Center of Searcy with his loving family by his side. He was born in Patterson, Arkansas on October 5, 1936 the son of the late Wayne O. and Retha Lee Chadwick Madison.
Mr. Madison had graduated from McCrory High School, The Class of 1954. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served his country proudly. Mr. Madison had retired after 58 years of employment as a Computer System Programmer. An ordained Baptist Minister, Mr. Madison had served at the Morton Baptist Church. He also was a member of the New Relations Group for over 28 years. He enjoyed bow hunting deer and fishing. He had a love for animals where he was known for raising dogs and quail.
Mr. Madison is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Retha Madison, one step-daughter, Joie Williamson and one brother, Randy Madison.
Mr. Madison is survived by his wife, Sue Reddell Madison of the home, one son, Roger Madison and wife Pamela of Benton, Arkansas, one daughter, Reni Irby and husband David of Searcy, Arkansas, three step-sons, Jeff Kelley and wife Catherine of Morton, Arkansas, Michael Ward of Ruston, Louisiana, Jody Crossett and wife Brenda of McCrory, Arkansas, three step-daughters, Lynn Sthal Miles of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Paula Weaver of McCrory, Arkansas, Renee Bearden of Orange, Texas, twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and one special friend, David Graves of McCrory, Arkansas.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Adam Kelley, Jeremy Kelley, Josh Weaver, Dillon Madison, Ethan Sthal and David Graves. Honorary pallbearer is Samuel Irby.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with funeral services being conducted on Saturday, January 6, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Woodman Cemetery.
