Obituary for Bonnie Williams (Spiegel)

Bonnie  Williams (Spiegel)
Mrs. Bonnie Lee (Spiegel) Williams, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, May 6, 2018, in the comfort of her home at the age of 82. She was born in Harrisburg on Monday, September 30, 1935, the daughter of Mr. George Washington Spiegel and Mrs. Charlottie (Hand) Spiegel.

Bonnie and Mr. Clyde Williams were united in marriage on September 21, 1951, and enjoyed 49 years together before Clyde’s passing in 2000. Mrs. Bonnie retired from American Greeting Card in McCrory. Following her retirement, she was a caretaker for many Alzheimer’s patients in the Wynne area. Bonnie was the last surviving charter member of Holt’s Chapel Church of God, having been a member for 63 years. She taught Sunday School, and was the church secretary and clerk for 16 years, only resigning on January 1, 2018, due to her health. Bonnie enjoyed studying God’s Word and traveling. She was a dedicated servant of the Lord, and took it upon herself to care for others whenever the need arose. Mrs. Bonnie will forever be remembered for her never-waning love for her family.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, George and Charlottie Spiegel; her husband, Clyde Williams; seven brothers; and six sisters.

She is survived by five sons, Ricky Williams and his wife, Judy; James Williams and his wife, Dedra; Raymond Williams and his wife, Debbie; Jackie Williams and his wife, Pat; and Shannon Williams and his wife, Holley; two brothers, Lloyd Spiegel and his wife, Louise; and Bill Spiegel and his wife, Karen; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Reverend Anna Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Peaty Moore, Zack Phillips, Jeremy Williams, Jonathan Phillips, Alex Williams, and Joe Williams. Honorary pallbearer is Ruben Pate.

Donations may be made in Bonnie’s honor to the Holt’s Chapel Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
