Mr. David Ben Anderson, Jr., resident of Garner, North Carolina, departed this life on Friday, May 11, 2018, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, North Carolina, at the age of 79. He was born in Whitehall, Arkansas, on Thursday, September 22, 1938, the son of Mr. David Ben Anderson, Sr. and Mrs. Octavia (Taylor) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. He served his country in the United States Army, and enjoyed woodwork and tending to his chickens.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David and Octavia Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Anderson, of the home; two sons, Mike Anderson and his wife, Dina, of Oak Island, North Carolina; and Jeff Anderson, of Gulfport, Mississippi; two daughters, Kathy Mullins and her husband, Harold, of Hickory Ridge; and Jennifer Smith and her husband, Mitchell, of Newport; a brother, Danny Anderson, of Wynne; a sister Helen Sutherlen, of Cherry Valley; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Chris Frazier, of Garner, North Carolina; Debra Wyatt, and her husband, Mickey, of Garner, North Carolina; Vickie Thompson, of Garner, North Carolina; and Steve Strickland, of Nahunta, North Carolina; his beloved Chihuahua, Miss Mattie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Brother Rodney Eldridge officiating. Interment will follow in Tyer Cemetery in Cherry Valley.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to service time.
