Obituary for Ruth Imogene Meadows (Jarrett)

Ruth Imogene  Meadows (Jarrett)
Mrs. Ruth Imogene (Jarrett) Meadows, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, June 1, 2018, at River Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center in Wynne, at the age of 78. She was born on Friday, November 24, 1939, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Jarrett and Mrs. Maybelle Jarrett.

Imogene and Mr. Amazon P. Meadows were united in marriage on August 12, 1955. They enjoyed 56 years together before Mr. Meadows’ passing on January 22, 2012. Mrs. Meadows enjoyed cooking, working in her garden, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Three Trees Cowboy Church in Wynne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amazon Meadows; her parents, Willie and Maybelle Jarrett; a son, Billy Meadows; three brothers, Joe, Jimmy, and Calvin Jarrett; and three sisters, Myrtle Burkhead, Opal Mosley, and Joan Jarrett.

She is survived by three sons, Ray Meadows and wife, Debbie, Ronnie Meadows and wife, Terry, and Rodney Meadows and wife, Diane, all of Wynne; a sister, Phyllis Greenhall; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Brother Chris Stover officiating. Interment will follow in Halk Cemetery located west of Wynne.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronnie Meadows, Jamey Meadows, Joey Meadows, Shannon Hunt, Jeremy Hunt, and Jordan Meadows. Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Patrick, Chandle Meadows-Rice and Brittney Gaddy.

Donations may be made in Imogene’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
