Robert “Bob” James Dix, 91, returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Bob was born to the late Alfred and Lula Goss Dix in Jackson County Arkansas on December 31, 1926.
Bob was a Farmer and in his younger years enjoyed his job with GM Motor Company in Flint, Michigan. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. When his health allowed him, he attended Fair Oaks Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mollie of the home; his sons Mark (Ressa), James (Lisa), and Matthew (Lisa) Dix all of McCrory; his daughters Patty Grey of Patterson and Christina (Ray) Williams and Susan Dix of McCrory; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his brothers Charles (Frances) Dix of Oregon, Ray (Ann) Dix of Alabama. He is preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Jane Dix, 5 brothers Harold, Lester, Louis, Gene, and Richard, one sister Doris Weston, and his parents.
Visitation will be Friday 5:00 pm for family and 6:00 – 8:00 pm for friends. Bob will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 7 at 2:00 pm at Thompson and Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory. Reverend Rodney Eldridge and Reverend William Ferrell Wiggins will officiate the service followed by burial at Pumpkin Bend Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Dix, Chantry Dix, Trevor Bowles, and Hayden Headley. Pallbearers will be Markus Patterson, Trent Patterson, Wayne Plunkett, Edward Plunkett, Michael Jones and Chad Ludlow.
Memorials may be made to the Fair Oaks Assembly of God building fund or the American Diabetes Association.
