Mrs. Pearl Rae (Tillman) Knighten, resident of Wynne, departed this life on Friday, September 28, 2018, in the comfort of her home at the age of 69. She was born in Weona on Saturday, November 13, 1948, the daughter of Mr. Burgess Ray Tillman and Mrs. Betty Pearl (Dobson) Dye.
Pearl was teacher, and a member of Smith Center Assembly of God. She enjoyed crafting of all kinds including creating beautiful flower arrangements, sewing, crochet, and any kind of needle work. She was an extraordinary cook, and will be missed by many.
Mrs. Knighten was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Loyd, Herman, James “PeeWee,” J.B. and Terry Tillman; and four sisters, Cathy Byrd, LaVonda Tillman, Ruth Dobson, and Sue Jacobs.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Knighten, of the home; four brothers, Wayne Tillman of Newport, Paul Tillman of Washington, Danny Tillman of Griffithville, and Leon Tillman of Cave City; a special family friend, Renee Ostrander; a special niece, Cynthia Hoots and husband, L.J., of Hickory Ridge; a multitude of other nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Brother Ricky Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to service time.
