Mr. Larry Cook Futrell, resident of Wynne, departed this life on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at his home at the age of 80. He was born on Tuesday, October 18, 1938, in Wynne, the son of Mr. William Douglas Futrell and Mrs. Audrey (Cook) Futrell.
Mr. Futrell was a graduate of Wynne High School, and served in the Army National Guard. He worked at the rural water treatment facility, but his favorite job was when he worked as a disc jockey at the Wynne radio station as a young man. Larry was a member of Calvary Fellowship Church and the Republican Party. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and loved to make people laugh with his fun-loving and silly antics.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Danny Futrell.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Futrell, of the home; a daughter, Lori Futrell-Graham of Little Rock; a brother, Ricky Douglas and wife, Jennifer Gayle, of Texarkana, Arkansas; a sister, Margaret Futrell-Carroll and husband, Vern, of Huntsville, Alabama; three grandsons, Jonathan Isaac Graham, Zachary Dustin Graham, and Ethan Levi Graham; a great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Graham; three nephews, Charles David Sullivan, Carey Sullivan, and Brian Futrell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with Pastor Mike Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018.
