Shirley Mae  Thrasher (Martin)
Shirley Mae Thrasher of Hensley, Arkansas passed from this world peacefully on October 22, 2018. She was born Shirley Mae Martin on December 5, 1933 in Oxford, Izard County Arkansas. Her parents were Osro E. Martin and Eva Martin. She was 84 years old, a loving great-grandmother, grandmother and mother.

Mrs. Shirley attended Newport High School and St. Vincent Nursing School. She married Mr. Henry “Hank” Thrasher on May 19, 1956 and was a member of the Geyer Springs Church of Christ in Little Rock. She loved cooking for her husband and children and helped her husband run Hank’s Station. She enjoyed bowling for fun, and fishing even though her husband didn’t like to fish.

Mrs. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Osro and Eva Martin, one brother, Don Martin and one sister, Mildred Kathleen Johnston. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Henry “Hank” Thrasher of Hensley, Arkansas, two sons, Darryl Wayne Thrasher and wife Micole of Plano, Texas, Terry Eugene Thrasher and wife Laura of Trinity, Texas, one daughter, Shirley Lynn Thrasher of Hensley, Arkansas, two brothers, Robert Martin and wife Freida of McCrory, Arkansas, Gary Martin and wife June of Searcy, Arkansas, one sister, Patsy Calkin of St. Louis, Missouri, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Terry Thrasher, Darryl Thrasher, Robert Thrasher, Jake Thrasher, Ian Martin, Clint Martin and Michael Martin.

Friends may visit at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th with 2:00 p.m. funeral services following at the Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodman Cemetery.
