Mrs. Trinidad “Trine” (Guzman) Garcia, longtime resident of Parkin, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, January 25, 2021, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 96. Trine was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on December 4, 1924, the daughter of Gregory and Gregoria (Infante) Guzman.
Trine and Mr. Jose “Joe” Garcia were united in marriage on February 3, 1945, and they cherished 70 years together prior to Joe’s death in 2015. Trine was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Parkin. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, drawing, sewing, painting, and other crafts.
Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Garcia; her parents; three sons, Alfredo, Armando, and Leonel Garcia; four brothers, Theodore, Gregory, Johnny, and Martin Guzman; a sister, Shelia Santana; and a great-grandchild.
She is survived by a son, Manuel Garcia of Parkin; four daughters, Gloria Miller and husband, Larry, of Bay Village; Ofelia Golden and husband, Jeff, of Pine Bluff; Josefina Spann and husband, Grady, of North Little Rock; and Shelia Hall and husband, Stephen, of Harrisburg; a sister, Adela Espinoza; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Parkin with Bro. Ralph Pipkin officiating. Interment will follow in Parkin Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the church form 1:00 p.m. to service time.
